Gideon's Chariots - ??

May 2025 and the Israeli prime mininster, Benjamin Netanmyahu, has accounced "Operation Gideon's Chariots", a massive military incursion to 'cleanse' Gaza of Hamas and many Palestinians. But Gideon did not use chariots! Gideon used swords, lamps and horns sounding against the massive Midianite army and all their chariots etc. Or, rather God used those.

Chariots were a war instrument of power and prestige. The Canaanite and other tribes used them. Chariots are part of the Canaanist mentality, of warfare, rivalry, superiority, injustice, and unconcern, the culture that led to violence and which God overthrew. By contrast, the culture of Israel at the time was one of justice (tsedeq) and peace (shalom) with mercy.

But not today. The culture in Israel's ruling party of government is that of the Canaanists: warfare, superiority, injustice and unconcern. Are not the Jews supposed to be a "light to the nations" to demonstrate what a culture infused with godliness is like, and that it 'works' even in a wicked world?

Well, why is Netanyahu leading Israel down the path of Canaanist attitudes? Why is he making Israel "like the other nations" rather than "a light to the nations"? Is the Israeli government going against God?
