My Stance on Homosexualism and Homosexuality (LGB)
Clarification
I differentiate Homosexualism from Homosexuality. By Homosexuality I mean either homosexual practice or a homosexual disposition, either female or male. By Homosexualism I mean the 'ism', the ideology, the belief-and-commitment system that people hold that homosexuality is 'OK' and that any holding it not to be OK is to be fought against. Homosexualism is a subset of Progressivism, which also holds similar viewa about abortion and transgender issues: they are OK and that any holding of them not to be OK must be fought against.
(Note that I do not associate transgender with homosexuality (as the easy-off-the-tongue acronym "LGBT" does; as one transgender person told me once, "Homosexuality is about who one loves; Transgender is about who one is." Progressivism, and most of Homosexualism, seems to wrap the two together in a way that seem to me invalid.)
Having clarified that, I will now proceed to give my stance on both, on Monosexuality first.
On Homosexuality
My Thinking about Homosexuality
- I take the Bible seriously. There are several verses that seem to condemn homosexual practice.
- However, I also believe in a God Who surprises us, and undermines our established beliefs, not rejecting those beliefs but rather fulfilling them, setting them in wider context.
- I notice that Jesus did not seem to condemn homosexuality - though of course it might not have been an issue that He encountered. What I notice that Jesus condemned hardness of heart, holding grudge against a brother, etc.
- Some Christians who support homosexuality argue that the condemnatory verses in the Bible were for that time and in that culture.
- I am not entirely convinced by that, but am not against it either.
- So I would say that I 70-80% believe that homosexuality is wrong (by which I mean that it is not as God intended humans to live), and 20-30% that homosexuality is OK.
About My Role and About Salvation
- My main role in life is NOT to "defend Christianity" especially not traditional Christianity, but to represent God, to bring people to Christ and to bring blessing to the Creation. (See Representing God.)
- I believe that salvation has three dimensions, D1, the death of Christ making us right with God, D2, the Holy Spirit dwelling in us and making us holy, like Christ, and letting us experience God with us here and now, D3, those who allow the Holy Spirit to thus transform them to represent God to the rest of Creation, including all humankind.
About Homosexual Christians
- Therefore, if a homosexual person comes to Christ, I would NOT require them to repent of homosexuality.
- Rather, I would allow the Holy Spirit to work in them and, if the Holy Spirit wishes, to convict them and move them away from it, and do so in the right time.
- I believe that, even if homosexuality is a sin in God's eyes, there are far worse sins that it, sins of the heart: attitude and mindset, such as those that Jesus condemned.
- I would therefore accept a homosexual brother or sister as they are, just as I accept others as they are, leaving to between them and God.
- I would however be concerned if a homosexual brother of sister in Christ (a fellow representer of God) were to adamantly promote homosexuality; I would wonder whether they have an idolatrous mindset, rather like the wealthy person who is trapped in their wealth, or me when I promote something that I treasure. Where a person's treasure is, there is their heart. It is the treasuring, not the homosexuality, which I would be concerned about.
Concluding Remarks
On Homosexualism
It is what I call homosexuaaism that I am very concerned about - and even get angry about sometimes. To be written.

- After the 'at' sign is the domain, which is "kgsvr . net" without the spaces
- Before the 'at' sign is "xn" - just those two letters, which is my abbreviation for "Christian".
(I apologise that I have to make it a little complicated; it is because I don't want automated spamming systems to find the email and send junk that will swamp your genuine messages. Thank you for your understanding - as well as for your comments.
